Member activity - "3D Printing - Using LiDAR Data to Create 3D City Models"
- 本次工作坊將展示如何透過地理信息系統、3D建模和3D打印的結合來創建物理模型。參加者將學習如何利用光學雷達數據(LiDAR)製作香港的3D城市模型,並學習使用3D打印機打印出該地區的模型。
所有空間數據、軟件和數據轉換過程主要從開放資源中獲取。你將有機會把螢幕內的空間數據變成實體模型,然後把你自己製作的模型作為紀念品帶回家! - This introductory session will demonstrate the physical outputs that are possible when combining the power of GIS, 3D modelling, and 3D printing. Participants will be taught to generate a 3D city model of areas in Hong Kong from LiDAR data and use a 3D printer to print out the model.
Our workshop will mainly focus on publicly available resources for acquiring spatial data, software, and processes for converting data into 3D models. You can turn digital spatial data into reality and even bring home the 3D model as a souvenir for free!
