由發展局成立、東華三院和智慧城市聯盟(SCC)分別作為營運機構和支援組織的「地理空間實驗室」，旨在營造一個地理空間社區，鼓勵年輕一代、初創企業及創意人才，一同討論、探索和交流意見，發揮空間數據的潛力，從而開發具創意、利民便民的應用程式。

地理空間實驗室面積約3000平方呎。位於觀塘創紀之城一期，開幕典禮於7月30日舉行，由發展局局長黃偉綸先生、SCC創辦人兼榮譽會長葛珮帆議員、東華三院主席譚鎮國先生與其他嘉賓主持。

The Geospatial Lab (GeoLab), established by the Development Bureau, aims to provide a platform to nurture a geospatial community by encouraging the younger generation, startups and creative minds to discuss, explore and exchange ideas for harnessing the potential of spatial data, thereby improving quality of life and promoting business opportunities. The opening ceremony took place on July 30.

Operated by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and supported by Smart City Consortium (SCC), the GeoLab is equipped with advanced technology and training facilities. Various activities such as competitions, workshops and talks are being organised with an aim to raise public interest and explore together with the wider community the value and application of spatial data. 另外，多個政府部門的官員在8月23日分兩批上下午到訪「地理空間實驗室」，聆聽介紹。上午出席的政府部門，來自政府統計處、屋宇署、渠務署、建築署、差餉物業估價署、運輸署、路政署、地政總署，及起動九龍東辦事處等。出席下午環節的有來自警務處、天文台、教育局、環境保護署、古物古蹟辦事處、社會福利署和香港郵政的官員。

SCC/ GeoLab Core Members introduced the GeoLab to various government departments such as the Lands Department (May 11) and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (June 22).

In addition, two groups of government officials from many Bureaux/Departments attended spatial talks at the GeoLab on August 23 morning and afternoons.

The "Professional Diploma in Smart City" programme, jointly offered by Smart City Academy (SCA) and IVE Engineering Discipline, is currently taking place under the end of the year. Chairmen of various SCC Committees including Mr Daniel Chun, Ms Rosana Wong, Mr Emil Chan, Dr Peter Kwan, Ir Wilson Kwok, Mr Roanld Pong, Ir Charles So, Dr Kenneth Tang, and Dr Paulina Wong were invited to be lecturers.

Smart City Academy and Lingnan University have jointly developed a SmartCity Executive Training (SET) Program with an aim to enrich students with multi-dimensional knowhow in smart city technologies, management/strategic skills, specific knowledge in smart living, smart environment, smart economy and social context areas. Smart City Consortium (SCC) is to promote "Smart-City-as-a-Service" to mainland officials and enterprises by mounting a "Hong Kong Smart City Pavilion" at China Hi-Tech Fair in Shenzhen, which will be held on 17-21 November 2021. SCC members and Hong Kong smart city companies in IoT, information security and property technology sectors are welcome to join the Pavilion. Successful participants will enjoy free participation fee and rental.

Organised by Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), State Intellectual Property Office, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, the Expo will take place in Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre. The products or services of 25 Hong Kong companies in IoT, Information security, and property technology sectors will be presented to mainland users.

Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from October 27-30, the International ICT Expo is one of the most important and significant trade event of its kind in the region. The first Inter-school AI Formula Edge Competition, organized by SCC and operated by STEM Plus Limited, will take place at the Asia World Expo on 10-12 December 2021. Led by SCC's STEM committee, the Competition is expected to help build up participants' skills in coding, robotics and AI model building.

As funded by the Environmental Protection Department's Recycling Fund, SCC has appointed Autotoll International Limited to develop a model for the solid waste collection and transport by making use of geo-informatics solutions. Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) is the implementation agent of this project.

The "Smart Routine and Weighing System for Recycling of Solid Waste" System with Route Optimization Trial and Smart Weighing Trial are now under pilot test at several residential estates.

Funded by the General Support Programme of the Innovation and Technology Fund and sponsored by Chinachem Group, SCC is working on a set of IoT Index Standard and Guideline for Property Technologies in Hong Kong. 爲助力創新驅動發展戰略， 激勵和引導廣大青年積極投身創新創業實踐，全國青聯團體會員中國青年創業就業基金會計劃實施「創青春」中國青年創新創業項目，其中擬向香港開放以港澳青年爲團隊骨幹成員的科技創新「攀登計劃」 項目（每項目提供5 - 10萬元人民幣公益資助）、大學生創業「金種子計劃」項目（每項目提供不低於1 萬元人民幣公益資助）。

除提供資助外，吸納項目骨幹加入中國青年創業聯盟等團屬創業服務組織，提供專項投融資對接服務，結對匹配一名創業導師，邀請參加全國性青年創新創業服務交流活動，推薦項目入孵團屬創業孵化器等。
