教育局局長蔡若蓮博士8月24日在3號風球之下專程到訪「地理空間實驗室」，與一眾校長師生互動交流，聆聽同學們以地理信息系統介紹「水鄉大澳」、「將軍澳的宜居情況」和香港歷史。SCC創辦人兼榮譽會長葛珮帆議員及鄧淑明博士、東華三院行政總監蘇祐安先生和發展局空間數據辦事處總監陳宇俊先生在場介紹「地理空間實驗室」的成立目的和概況。

蔡局長其後在Facebook上分享感受(連結)。她說：「數碼年代，都市人的生活離不開地理空間數據，其應用廣泛，也是推動智慧城市發展的重要元素。我們要善用地理空間數據，從教育入手，讓學生有更多接觸和發揮的機會。」

局長指出：「地理信息系統是初中及高中地理科課程的必須學習元素，一般應用於地理數據分析、地圖闡釋和實地考察。另外，教育局持續與發展局合作，為學校教師(特別是地理科教師)提供課堂培訓及參觀考察。」

由發展局成立，東華三院和智慧城市聯盟分別為營運機構和支援組織的「地理空間實驗室」，定期為學校安排活動，協助同學掌握地理空間技術和知識，蔡局長說：「我希望教育界朋友和同學參與。」

Dr Christine Choi, Secretary for Education, visited Geospatial Lab (GeoLab) on August 24 and watched students’ demonstration of their spatial data projects. After the visit, Dr Choi shared her views on Facebook(link). She saw the importance of equipping students with GIS knowledge and skills and encouraged schools to participate in the GeoLab workshops and activities.

The GeoLab was established by the Development Bureau of the HKSAR Government in mid-2021, operated by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and supported by Smart City Consortium (SCC).

7月30日是「地理空間實驗室」(GeoLab)成立一周年的大日子，當日舉行「2022地理信息系統(GIS)應用公開賽」匯報日及頒獎典禮。比賽的目的是鼓勵中小學生及公眾人士透過利用地理信息系統建模、製圖和進行空間分析，參賽者需要提交一個以網絡地圖為主軸的應用程式，展示有關香港事件或現象，並以故事形式串連所有互動地圖、事件論述、影像及圖片。當日高小、初中、高中及公開組共17隊參賽者爭奪最後排名。

Geospatial Lab (GeoLab) celebrated the 1st anniversary on 30 July 2022. It was also the Presentation Day and Prize Award Ceremony of the "2022 Open GIS Competition", with a total of 17 teams shortlisted from Senior Primary School Category, Junior Secondary Category, Senior Secondary Category and Open Category competing for the final ranking.

Mr Philip Ma, Chairman of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, delivered welcome remarks and presented award to the Champion of the Open Category (above photo on the right).

「地理空間實驗室」(GeoLab) 成立一周年，精彩活動一個接一個。

GeoLab聯同職業訓練局(VTC)的香港專業教育學院（李惠利）舉辦「地理信息軟件開發黑客松2022」於7月順利舉行，30名大專院校學生參與為期四日的工作坊，學習運用空間數據、地理信息系統(GIS)、編程和分析工具，開發應用程式以解決日常生活問題。六組同學都有創新想法，於7月31日匯報日上面介紹其開發的應用程式，競逐全場總冠軍。

The Geospatial App Development Hackathon 2022, jointly organised by Geospatial Lab and HK Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee), was successfully held in July, with six groups of participants presenting their entries on July 31.

VTC’s Deputy Executive Director and also SCC’s Honorary Member Ir Dr Eric Liu, and GeoLab Manager Dr Ann Mak, presented the prize to the Champion team (above photo on the right).

由智慧城市聯盟主辦的第一屆小小定格動畫創作比賽，目的是提升小朋友表達技巧及創意思維、訓練其決策能力及團隊協作能力，和加強學生對資訊科技的興趣。比賽有超過80多位來自不同學校的學生，以「正向教育」及「中華文化」為主題，提交既有動感又賦創意的定格動畫作品報名。於8月12日舉行頒獎禮。

Over the past quarter, the Geospatial Lab held a number of professional talks/seminar, covering remote sensing, Geographic Information System (GIS) , Urban Planning, Public Health Management, and Aviation, as well as a STEM Workshop on "Create an Interactive Web Mapping Application" for students and parents.

理工大學成立了「科技及創新政策研究中心(PReCIT)」，PReCIT 8月26日 舉行「創科論壇：香港的土地規劃及房屋發展研討會」，SCC是合辦機構，三百多位參加者線上線下分享有關發展北部都會區的意見。SCC創辦人及榮譽會長鄧淑明博士是專家講者之一。

理工大學在微信(連結)及校刊(連結) 介紹該活動時多次提及SCC，在微信中說：「鄧淑明博士圍繞『如何將北部都會區建設為香港智慧城市標杆』提出了路線圖，以助公眾在討論將智慧城市科技應用至社區時，能獲得更充足的信息、具備更深入的認知。鄧淑明博士認為，善用空間數據對於提升香港的競爭力而言至關重要。」

SCC's Founder and Honorary President Dr Winnie Tang shared her insights on “Smart Technologies Driving Sustainable Smart Cities” at PolyU’s PReCIT “Innovation and Technology Forum Series: Planning, Land and Housing for Innovation and Technology Development in HK” on August 26. The forum was organised by PolyU’s Policy Research Centre for Innovation and Technology (PReCIT), with SCC as one of the Co-organisers.

Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (“HKIRC”) launched the Cybersec Training Hub on August 2. Above right is HKIRC’s Chairman Mr Simon Chan and SCC Founder and Honorary President Dr Winnie Tang. Mr Chan is also SCC’s Council Member.

HKIRC organised a seminar on Cybersec on August 25. SCC is one of the supporting organizations of above HKIRC activities.

智慧城市聯盟創辦人及榮譽會長鄧淑明博士5月24日在團結香港基金會《數字時代的文創產業發展》藝術創新研究報告的視像發布會上，講述「何謂『文化數據』?」。

SCC Founder and Honorary President Dr Winnie Tang shared her insights on “What is Cultural Data?” at the “Art Innovation Report Launch“ event organised by Our Hong Kong Foundation on 24 May 2022.

理工大學賽馬會社會創新設計院(JCDISI)總監兼SCC榮譽會員凌嘉勤教授是團結香港基金第三屆「香港創新領軍人物大獎」九位得獎者之一。頒獎典禮於7月29日舉行。

專注城市規劃工作數十年的凌嘉勤教授，在卸任規劃署署長後投身社會創新領域，領導JCDISI，設計務實和創新的方案應對各類社會挑戰，涵蓋過渡性社會房屋、關懷長者就業、建構跨代共融社區等。凌教授認為，社會創新最重要有同理心，深切感受服務對象的痛點。他亦堅信透過落地的創新項目改善基層生活，能影響頂層政策，促進政府及大眾關注議題，策動由下而上的社會革新。

Professor LING Kar-kan, Director of Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation of PolyU, and SCC’s Honorary Member, was one of the nine winners of The InnoStars Award organised by Our Hong Kong Foundation. Professor Ling believes that the most important element for social innovation is empathy—to profoundly understand the pain and needs of those you serve. He also believes that improving the lives of the grassroots through innovative projects can influence government policy planning, raise government and public concerns on social problems, and stimulate social innovation from the bottom up.

Dr Edward Chan, Chairman of SCC Social Innovation Committee, was a VIP at the opening ceremony the 7th Golden Age Expo and Summit SCC on August 5. Organised by the Golden Age Foundation with SCC as one of the supporting organizations, the Expo took place on 5-7 August 2022. This year’s theme was “Smart Ageing: Innovation, Sustainability & Inclusion”.

由貿易發展局主辦的「國際資訊科技博覽」是亞洲區內最具規模的資訊科技展覽會之一，2022年10月13至16日假香港會議展覽中心1號展館舉行。

Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from 13-16 October 2022 in Hall One of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the International ICT Expo is one of the most important trade events of its kind in the region. SCC will mount a "SCC Smart Living Pavilion" at the Expo, showcasing products and solutions related to Smart Mapping, Smart Learning, Smart Office, Smart Property Management, Automated Parking System, Smart Transformation and Smart Infrastructure.

SCC will also organize a smart living seminar on October 14 at 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Expo venue. Industry stakeholders and experts will share their views on current smart city development in Hong Kong and make suggestions on “Smart City Blueprint 3.0”.
