大灣區低空經濟聯盟 Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA)
Since its inauguration on 23 September 2024, the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA) has been actively engaging with various government departments and social institutions to encourage applications for low-altitude economy (LAE) regulatory sandbox projects. Through these efforts, over 20 project applications have been submitted. LAEA announced these developments at a press conference on 24 January, which received significant media coverage.
Moreover, the LAEA and the University of Hong Kong jointly organized the first "Low Altitude Summit" on 10-11 January in HK and Qianhai, Shenzhen. Many esteemed academics and senior representatives from various LAE industry sectors explored the challenges and opportunities in the future development of LAE at this two-day summit.
The “Low Altitude Economy (LAE) Development Conference” will be held on13 April at HKCEC Hall 3B in the afternoon. Co-organised by the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA) and HKTDC at InnoEX 2025, this conference will provide an excellent platform for industry experts, global thought leaders, and policymakers to share insights and explore opportunities within this burgeoning field.

SCC第三場「人工智能+」系列講座暨會員交流活動將於3月25日下午4時舉行,以“The Power of GenAI”為主題。 創新科技及工業局數字政策辦公室總系統經理 (數據應用) 孫宇萬先生將分享 “How can we ensure AI safe and secure driving: SMART innovation”,而SCC人工智能及雲端委員會副主席黄凌志先生將介紹“Unlocking Insights: The revolution of LLMs and AI computing ”。
“The Power of GenAI” will be the theme of the forthcoming SCC “AI+” talk cum members’ networking activities”. Mr Brian Sun, Chief Systems Manager (Data Application) of the Digital Policy Office at ITIB, will discuss “How can we ensure AI safe and secure driving: SMART innovation”. Meanwhile Mr Keith Wong, Vice Chairman of the SCC AI & Cloud Committee, will present on “Unlocking Insights: The revolution of LLMs and AI computing ”at the event co-organized by LAEA and SCC on 25 March from 4-6 p.m. at 3302, 33/F, Tower 6, Gateway Building. Learning & Teaching Expo 2025 (LTE), which is organized by SCC, presented by Hong Kong Education City and supported by the Education Bureau of HKSAR, will take place at HKCEC from 2-4 July 2025. As one of the Asia’s largest education platform, LTE 2025 connects educators, thought leaders, and industry innovators from around the globe, all dedicated to advancing educational practices. Visitors can explore cutting-edge teaching methods, effective technology integration, and strategies for enhancing student engagement. This year’s theme is 'Education: A Shared Future for All'. Scholars, educators and policy makers in the education sector will share their insights and experience through thematic seminars, panel discussions, workshops, etc.
We welcome applications for participation in LTE2025. SCC lifetime corporate member can receive a 15% discount, while other non-lifetime corporate member can enjoy a 10% discount, valid until 14 May 2025.
The 2024 event took place from 10-12 December, attended by Secretary for Education Dr Choi Yuk Lin, SCC Founder and Honorary President Dr Winnie Tang and many VIPs, with SCC President Gary Yeung being a forum moderator.

To further promote the Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) and enhance public interest in spatial data, GeoSpatial Lab (GeoLab) is now organizing the "CSDI Awards 2025 - Co-creation X Northern Metropolis X Spatial Data".
Participants can explore various applications of spatial data in the Northern Metropolis across multiple domains, including environment, transportation, economy, urban planning and community development, proposing creative solutions for sustainable development and social well-being. Briefings and seminars will be held in the coming weeks. 第四屆 大灣區校際人工智能E-級方程式賽車比賽 4th Inter school AI Formula Edge (GBA) Competition
SCC and STEM Plus organized the 4th Inter-school AI Formula Edge (GBA) Competition from 13-15 December 2024 at Asia World Expo. Supporting organizations included the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau (ITIB), HK Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Cyberport, HK Productivity Council, HK Institute of Information Technology (of VTC), HK Education City and HK Electronics Industry Association.
The Guests of Honour of the Closing cum Prize Presentation Ceremony on December 15 were Ms Lillian Cheong, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, who delivered video remarks, and Mr Tong Wong, Commissioner for Digital Policy of ITIB. SCC 創辦人兼榮譽會長鄧淑明博士,會長楊文銳,發展局及房屋局多位官員和學者於 2024 年11月22日出席香港科技大學GREAT Smart Cities Institute (GSCI)、知識轉移辦公室以及土木與環境工程系校友會聯合舉辦的 “Industry Engagement Day Plus: Safer, Greener, and Better – Making Our City Smarter with Technology”活動。SCC是活動支持機構。
A HKUST event themed “Industry Engagement Day Plus: Safer, Greener, and Better – Making Our City Smarter with Technology” took place on 22 November 2024, showcasing pioneering solutions from 20 HKUST startups and projects.
SCC Founder and Honorary President Dr Winnie Tang, President Gary Yeung and senior government officials from Development and Housing Bureaux were among the VIPs at the opening. The event was jointly organized by the HKUST GREAT Smart Cities Institute (GSCI), HKUST Office of Knowledge Transfer, and the HKUST Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association, with SCC as a supporting organisation.
第一屆亞洲地圖學會議在香港舉行 The Inaugural Asian Cartographic Conference took place in HK
The inaugural Asian Cartographic Conference, AsiaCarto 2024, co-hosted by the International Cartographic Association (ICA) and PolyU, with SCC as one of the supporting organisations, took place from 8-10 December 2024 in HK. Dr Winnie Tang, SCC’s Founder and Honorary President, was one of the speakers.
The conference attracted over 200 map enthusiasts and experts from more than 30 countries and regions, highlighting the global interest in cartographic studies.
中總論壇 - “創新求變 共建未來” CGCC Forum on HK’s new economic position
The CGCC Forum, a branded events of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, was held on 17 January, featuring speeches from Financial Secretary Paul Chan and several business leaders and experts discussing HK’s new economic position. SCC President Gary Yeung was one of the panel speakers.

The 7th Greater Bay Area STEAM Excellence Award 2025, organised by the Hong Kong New Emerging Technology Education Association (HKNETEA), is now open for registration till March 31, 2025. SCC is a supporting organization for the event.
