The “International Low-Altitude Economy Summit” was organized by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) jointly with the HKSAR Government’s Working Group on Developing Low-altitude Economy and the GBA Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA) on 9 October. Mr Michael Wong, Deputy Financial Secretary of HKSAR Government; Dr Lam Tai-fai, Council Chairman of PolyU; and Hon Elizabeth Quat, Founding President of LAEA, were the officiating guests at the Opening Ceremony.
In the afternoon, the LAEA organized a Parallel Session to provide updates on ongoing Regulatory Sandbox projects.

Over the past quarter, the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance organized a number of activities including the "Belt and Road Low-Altitude Economy (LAE) Fun Day" cum Cyberport’s LAE Application Exhibition Opening, the Low-Altitude Economy Logistics Seminar, the Information Security Forum on the Low-Altitude Economy, and the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) Exchange Session on the Low-Altitude Economy.
In addition, the Alliance also attended the HKPC Low-altitude Economy Tech Hall Launching Ceremony, and a delegation led by the Alliance’s Founding Vice President Dr. Winnie Tang visited the “Super Terminal Expo” and participated in the Low-altitude Economy Forum. The Alliance also signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with various organisations.

Under SCC’s Greater Bay Area Youth Entrepreneurship (Smart City) Programme, a series of entrepreneurial incubation lectures will be held to help entrepreneurs master key knowledge and skills. Details will be announced soon, or you may keep an eye on the above link.
Recent entrepreneurial incubation lectures included the "Overview of Entrepreneurship Regulations in the Greater Bay Area" on 26 September, the "Overview of Financial and Accounting Systems in the Greater Bay Area" on 24 October, the "AI + IT Architecture Strategy in the Greater Bay Area" on 14 November, and the "Business Model Canvas" seminar on 20 November.
This programme is supported by the Funding Scheme for Youth Entrepreneurship in the Guangdong-HK-Macao GBA under the Youth Development Fund.
地理空間實驗室舉行兩項比賽 Geo-STEAM 2025 & GeoLabQuest rolled out soon
The Geospatial Lab (Geolab) is to launch two competitions. The first is Geo-STEAM 2025, which aims to strengthen students’ spatial analysis and application skills, cultivating a skillset for practical impact, and integrating the knowledge into various live situations. The second one is GeoLabQuest, which is an online quiz aim to strengthen participants’ understanding of spatial data, CSDI and GeoLab. Established by the Development Bureau, operated by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and supported by SCC, the GeoLab held 44 events and engaged 1,344 participants. These included 4 professional talks, 2 hands-on workshops, 20 group visits by students, and 9 docents involving government departments and professionals bodies over the past quarter.
Learning & Teaching Expo 2026 (LTE), which is organized by SCC, presented by Hong Kong Education City and supported by the Education Bureau of HKSAR, will take place at HKCEC from 25-27 June 2026. As one of the Asia’s largest education platform, LTE 2026 connects educators, thought leaders, and industry innovators from around the globe, all dedicated to advancing educational practices. Visitors can explore cutting-edge teaching methods, effective technology integration, and strategies for enhancing student engagement.

經濟通「智慧生活夥伴大獎」- 智能城市的AI與數字轉型 ETnet Awards - AI & Digital Transformation in Smart Cities
Organized by ET Net (a member of Hong Kong Economic Times Holdings), co-organized by Hong Kong Cyberport with SCC as a Strategic Partner, the Smart Living Partnership Awards 2025 presentation ceremony took place on 21 October with Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Ms Lilian Cheong as the Guest of Honour.
This year’s theme, “AI & Digital Transformation in Smart Cities,” highlights groundbreaking innovation that enhances societal competitiveness and raises public awareness of digitalization. Dr Winnie Tang, SCC’s Founder and Honorary President, was the Head of Judge and Mr Emil Chan, Chairman of SCC FinTech Committee was among the panel judges.
At the invitation of Dr Rosana Wong, Dr Winnie Tang, who was also SCC’s Founder and Honorary President, served as the moderator of the panel discussion of the “Spatial Data/AI/Data-Driven Solutions Intelligence” session at the Future Cities Symposium on 14 November, while SCC President Gary Yeung moderated the panel discussion of the “Sustainable Transport Infrastructure and Low Altitude Economy” session.

The Annual Dinner of Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch was held on 3 November. Dr Winnie Tang, SCC’s Founder and Honorary President, was invited to deliver a keynote speech.
The Commissioner for Digital Policy, Mr Tony Wong, led a Hong Kong cybersecurity industry delegation to attend the 2025 China Cybersecurity Week in Kunming on 15 September. The delegation engaged with Mainland industry counterparts to explore the challenges and opportunities of cybersecurity in the digital era. SCC President Gary Yeung was among the delegation members.
第八屆「一帶一路」國際聯盟度圓桌會議2025 Belt and Road Global Forum 2025
Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), the “Belt and Road Global Forum Annual Roundtable 2025” took place on 12 September. SCC President Gary Yeung shared on insights on spatial data and sharing platforms during the “Leveraging AI and Digital Technology to Turn Challenges into Breakthroughs” session, which was chaired by TDC Chairman Professor Frederick Ma.
SCC Vice President Damien Wu attended the LSCM Summit 2025 on 10 October. This year’s Summit focused on the development of the Port Community System. Keynote speakers shared valuable insights on how smart port initiatives can enhance efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness in the industry. SCC was a supporting organization of the Summit.

第八屆「一帶一路」國際聯盟度圓桌會議2025 Belt and Road Global Forum 2025
Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), the “Belt and Road Global Forum Annual Roundtable 2025” took place on 12 September. SCC President Gary Yeung shared on insights on spatial data and sharing platforms during the “Leveraging AI and Digital Technology to Turn Challenges into Breakthroughs” session, which was chaired by TDC Chairman Professor Frederick Ma.
SCC Vice President Damien Wu attended the LSCM Summit 2025 on 10 October. This year’s Summit focused on the development of the Port Community System. Keynote speakers shared valuable insights on how smart port initiatives can enhance efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness in the industry. SCC was a supporting organization of the Summit.

“SME ReachOut: FUND Fair plus Tech Sourcing 2025,” organized by the Productivity Council in conjunction with the Trade and Industry Department, took place from 16 to 17 October.
Mr Ronald Pong, Chairman of SCC IT Governance Committee, served as the moderator for the “Unlocking the Smart Workplace Session” session.
