This September marks both SCC’s 10th Anniversary and the 1st Anniversary of the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA). To celebrate, a cocktail reception was held on September 8, gathering over 900 distinguished guests, including senior representatives from the government, stakeholders from the innovation and technology community, academia, think tanks, media and foreign diplomats.
The Financial Secretary Paul Chan served as the Guest of Honor and delivered keynote at the cocktail. Hon Elizabeth Quat, SCC’s Founder and Steering Committee Chairman and LAEA’s Founding Chairman delivered welcome remarks, with thank you remarks presented by Mr Gary Yeung, SCC’s President and LAEA Honorary Secretary.
發展局在「學與教博覽2025」場內設立「基建 x 教育」大型主題展覽,這是香港建造業與教育界首個合辦的大型展覽,透過介紹香港基建項目,推動與建造業相關的STEAM(科學、科技、工程、藝術和數學)教育,透過基建實例協助學生應用STEAM知識,鼓勵年輕一代投身建造業。
Secretary for Education Dr Christine Choi and Permanent Secretary May Chan, along with Education Commission Chairman Dr David Wong Yau-Kar, EdCity Board Chairman Armstrong Lee, SCC’s Honorary Presidents Hon Elizabeth Quat and Dr Winnie Tang, and SCC President Gary Yeung officiated at the Opening Ceremony of Learning and Teaching Expo (LTE) 2025 on 2 July 2025.
Themed "Education: A Shared Future for All", the three-day LTE 2025 featured about several hundred exhibition booths and introduced the Mainland and International Pavilions to foster cross-regional collaborative exchanges. The Principals' Conference, held for the first time, brought together over 200 Hong Kong school principals, while a newly introduced Kids' AI Summit engaged approximately 100 Hong Kong primary and secondary school students in a three-minute speech session. Additionally, over 270 keynote speeches, seminars, and demonstration classes showcased innovative teaching solutions and trends in technology applications.
Most notably, the Development Bureau and the Construction Industry Council mounted the “Infrastructure x Education” exhibition at LTE 2025. This marked the first collaboration between the construction and the education sectors to organise a large-scale exhibition featuring infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, thereby promoting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education related to the construction industry. This initiative aimed to help students apply STEAM knowledge through practical examples and encourage the younger generation to join the construction industry.
大灣區低空經濟聯盟遞交施政報告建議 GBA Low Altitude Economy Alliance’s Policy Address Proposals
The Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA) Founding President Hon Elizabeth Quat and alliance members met with Dr Stephen Wong, Director of the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit. During the meeting, the LAEA submitted its 2025 Policy Address Proposals. Hon Quat outlined specific industry pathways and key policy demands in accelerating Hong Kong’s low-altitude economy development.

The Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance undertook multiple initiatives in recent months, including attending the launch ceremony of Hong Kong’s first aviation route within its low-altitude economy regulatory sandbox; participating in the Guangdong-Hong Kong Low-Altitude Economy Industry Exchange Conference; conducting study tours to Nanjing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Huawei Headquarters to examine low-altitude economic development; and holding exchange meetings with various government policy departments.

亞洲教育科技高峯會(AES)是亞洲教育科技業界和投資界的交流平台,AES Hong Kong Consortium是AES全球第七個分會,於2025年7月4正式啟動。香港特別行政區教育局副局長施俊輝博士擔任主禮嘉賓並致開幕辭,與SCC 創辦人兼榮譽會長鄧淑明博士,AES Global主席Toru Kishida及會長Kilho Lee,和香港分會主席楊文銳主持剪綵儀式。日本丶韓國丶中國丶泰國丶越南分會的高層代表均出席儀式並致賀辭。

The Asia EdTech Summit (AES) Hong Kong Consortium, the 7th chapter of AES, was officially launched on 4 July 2025 at the Learning & Teaching Expo 2025. Dr Jeff Sze, Under Secretary for Education of the HKSAR Government, delivered the Opening Speech and presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event was further honored by the presence of SCC’s Founder & Honorary President Dr Winnie Tang, Chairman of AES Global Toru Kishida, President of AES Global Kilho Lee and AES HK Chairman Gary Yeung. The occasion was also celebrated by key representatives from AES member countries, including AES Vietnam Chairman Dr Nguyen Tien Luan, AES Thailand Vice Chairperson Jintana Pornraksamanee, and AES China Director Yangon Binbin.
The launch event also featured thought-provoking discussions on critical topics shaping the future of education technology. David Wong, Director of the Intellectual Property Department of the HKSAR Government, addressed the audience on “Copyright in an AI World”, while Alessandro Di Lullo, Co-Founder of Supercharger Ventures, presented “From Returns to Results: Reframing EdTech as Impact Infrastructure”. Additionally, Chairperson of the AES Malaysia Preparatory Committee Yazid Hamid introduced “Malaysia’s EdTech Journey: Unlocking New Frontiers by 2030”.
The panel discussion on “EdTech – Impact Investment,” was moderated by SCC Vice President Mr Damien Wu.
At LTE 2025, SCC signed MoUs with several institutions, including Our Hong Kong Foundation, Federation of Hong Kong Industries, PKI Forum/ Chartered Institute of Housing Asian Pacific Branch, EdCity/Digital Education Council, and G-School from Korea.
SCC has signed 57 MoUs with innovation and technology organisations from 18 countries and regions.
The "CSDI Awards 2025 - Co-creation X Northern Metropolis X Spatial Data" Awards Ceremony, organised by Geospatial Lab (GeoLab), took place on 2 August at Science Park. Director of Northern Metropolis Co-ordination Office Vic Yau, Chief Executive of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) and Project Director of GeoLab Albert Su, SCC Founder and Honorary President Dr Winnie Tang, and Head of Spatial Data Office of Development Bureau YC Chan presented the prizes to winners. Permanent Secretary for Development (Planning & Lands) Doris Ho delivered closing remarks.

The Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and SCC will leverage on their extensive industry networks and expertise to collaborate on a series of smart city-related micro-credential training, particularly focusing on industry transformation and smart city technologies, according to the MoU signed between the two parties on 3 July 2025. SCC has rolled out a series of training seminars on CyberSecurity. The 3rd seminar, themed "Lessons for Small Businesses from Major Cybersecurity Incidents”, will take place on September 26 at 4-6 p.m. at H6 CONET - G/F, The Center, 99 Queen’s Road Central. The 4th seminar titled “Is Open Source Inherently Secure?” will be held on November 21.

Application for SCC’s Greater Bay Area Youth Entrepreneurship (Smart City) Programme has closed. The judging panel will select 15 projects, and meanwhile a series of entrepreneurial incubation lectures will be held. The lecture on “entrepreneurship” and “project proposal writing” were conducted by Mr Damien Wu and Ms Kiki Wang on Aug 8 and 21, respectively.

SCC創辦人兼榮譽會長鄧淑明博士應香港大學「城市研究及城市規劃中心」(CUSUP)主任葉嘉安教授的邀請,於7月26日出席該中心成立45周年慶祝活動「 2025 Town and Gown Symposium」發表主題演講,講述香港智慧城市的最新發展,探討智慧技術在城市規劃與管理上的現況和未來機遇。
Dr. Winnie Tang, SCC Founder and Honorary President, delivered a keynote presentation on the topic of “Smart City Development in Hong Kong” at the Town and Gown Symposium. This insightful session was given at the invitation of Professor Anthony Yeh, the Director of the Centre of Urban Studies and Urban Planning, who also serves as the Chair Professor in Urban Planning and Geographic Information Systems and Chan To Haan Professorship in Urban Planning and Design at the University of Hong Kong.
嶺南大學和《泰晤士高等教育》數碼轉型推動社會創新活動 Digital Universities Asia organised by LingU and Times Higher Education
由嶺南大學和《泰晤士高等教育》合辦的 Digital Universities Asia (DUA) 2025活動 於7月8日和9日舉行。主題為「以數碼轉型推動社會創新」,吸引了來自全球90多所大學及140個組織的300多名學者、行業領袖和政策專家,共同探討如何利用 AI 等新興技術來改革教學和學習。
Digital Universities Asia (DUA) 2025, co-organized by Lingnan University and Times Higher Education, was held on July 8 and 9. The event attracted over 300 scholars, industry leaders, and policy experts from more than 90 universities and 140 organizations worldwide to discuss how emerging technologies like AI can reform teaching and learning.
SCC Vice President Dr Rosana Wong served as the moderator for the panel discussion titled “Bridging the Divide: Advancing Digital Competency for All”.
After the panel discussion, Dr Paulina Wong, Associate Professor and Head of the Science Unit at Lingnan University, showcased several innovative sustainability initiatives implemented on the Lingnan campus.

SCC has rolled out a series of training seminars on CyberSecurity. The 3rd seminar, themed "Lessons for Small Businesses from Major Cybersecurity Incidents”, will take place on September 26 at 4-6 p.m. at H6 CONET - G/F, The Center, 99 Queen’s Road Central. The 4th seminar titled “Is Open Source Inherently Secure?” will be held on November 21.

Application for SCC’s Greater Bay Area Youth Entrepreneurship (Smart City) Programme has closed. The judging panel will select 15 projects, and meanwhile a series of entrepreneurial incubation lectures will be held. The lecture on “entrepreneurship” and “project proposal writing” were conducted by Mr Damien Wu and Ms Kiki Wang on Aug 8 and 21, respectively.

SCC創辦人兼榮譽會長鄧淑明博士應香港大學「城市研究及城市規劃中心」(CUSUP)主任葉嘉安教授的邀請,於7月26日出席該中心成立45周年慶祝活動「2025 Town and Gown Symposium」發表主題演講,講述香港智慧城市的最新發展,探討智慧技術在城市規劃與管理上的現況和未來機遇。
Dr. Winnie Tang, SCC Founder and Honorary President, delivered a keynote presentation on the topic of “Smart City Development in Hong Kong” at the Town and Gown Symposium. This insightful session was given at the invitation of Professor Anthony Yeh, the Director of the Centre of Urban Studies and Urban Planning, who also serves as the Chair Professor in Urban Planning and Geographic Information Systems and Chan To Haan Professorship in Urban Planning and Design at the University of Hong Kong.
嶺南大學和《泰晤士高等教育》數碼轉型推動社會創新活動 Digital Universities Asia organised by LingU and Times Higher Education
由嶺南大學和《泰晤士高等教育》合辦的 Digital Universities Asia (DUA) 2025活動 於7月8日和9日舉行。主題為「以數碼轉型推動社會創新」,吸引了來自全球90多所大學及140個組織的300多名學者、行業領袖和政策專家,共同探討如何利用 AI 等新興技術來改革教學和學習。
Digital Universities Asia (DUA) 2025, co-organized by Lingnan University and Times Higher Education, was held on July 8 and 9. The event attracted over 300 scholars, industry leaders, and policy experts from more than 90 universities and 140 organizations worldwide to discuss how emerging technologies like AI can reform teaching and learning.
SCC Vice President Dr Rosana Wong served as the moderator for the panel discussion titled “Bridging the Divide: Advancing Digital Competency for All”.
After the panel discussion, Dr Paulina Wong, Associate Professor and Head of the Science Unit at Lingnan University, showcased several innovative sustainability initiatives implemented on the Lingnan campus.

HKIS Building Surveyors Conference 2025, themed “Shaping the Built Environments for Cultural Enrichment and Wellbeing” will be held on 17 October 2025 at 9:00 - 4:00pm at Hotel ICON. The Conference is organised by HKIS and supported by SCC.
