On January 18 in Shenzhen and January 19 in Hong Kong, the 2nd Low-Altitude Economy Summit was hosted by the University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with the HKSAR Government’s Working Group on Developing Low-Altitude Economy and the GBA Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA). The Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the HKSAR Government, Mable Chan, delivered the keynote address on January 19. Prof Max Shen, Director of the HKU Research Institute for Civil Low-Altitude Aviation, and Hon Elizabeth Quat, Founding President of the GBA Low-Altitude Economy Alliance, provided welcome remarks.
Ms Mable Chan emphasized the necessity of developing a safe, efficient, and large-scale blueprint for airspace and infrastructure to scale up the low-altitude economy. She expressed hope that the "Regulatory Sandbox X" initiative would attract more industry professionals and research teams, facilitating the creation of a comprehensive, high-coverage, and future-oriented low-altitude UTM system.

The “Low-Altitude Economy for Smart Property/Housing Management Seminar”, organized by the City University of Hong Kong (CityU), LAEA and SCC, is scheduled for the morning of March 13 at CityU. Learning & Teaching Expo 2026 (LTE 2026), organized by SCC, presented by Hong Kong Education City and supported by the Education Bureau of HKSAR, will take place at HKCEC from 25-27 June 2026. As one of Asia’s largest education platform, LTE2026 connects educators, thought leaders, and industry innovators from around the globe who are dedicated to advancing educational practices. 大灣區青年創業 (智慧城市) 計劃 GBA Youth Entrepreneurship (Smart City) Program
Under SCC’s Greater Bay Area Youth Entrepreneurship (Smart City) Program, a series of entrepreneurial incubation lectures are being held to help entrepreneurs master key knowledge and skills.
Upcoming lectures include one focused on risk management and corporate construction on March 6, followed by another on March 20 featuring a seasoned entrepreneur sharing her startup experiences in the Mainland on March 20. Recent entrepreneurial incubation lectures have covered brand building on 14 January, e-commerce on 23 January, and opportunities in the GBA on 5 February. This program is supported by the Funding Scheme for Youth Entrepreneurship in the Guangdong-HK-Macao GBA under the Youth Development Fund.
促進香港與北美創業生態發展 Collaboration with ventureLAB (Canada) & HKU Super Angel Network
香港大學(港大)創業天使聯盟（HKU Super Angel Network）、加拿大ventureLAB創新中心，以及香港智慧城市聯盟三方於港大簽署合作備忘錄，共同促進香港與加拿大的創業生態系統發展。此合作旨在透過資源共享與優勢互補，建立跨境創新合作平台，推功科技創業國際化。
簽署儀式於12月5日在港大校園舉行，由港大協理副校長（研究）黃思齊教授、 香港加拿大商會創新委員會聯席主席 Mr Jovan Trajceski，以及智慧城市聯盟創辦人兼榮譽會長及香港大學創業天使聯盟召集人鄧淑明博士共同見證。三方代表簽署人分別為：港大科創中心總監汪鵬博士、ventureLAB創新中心行政總裁周憲本先生，及智慧城市聯盟會長楊文銳先生。
In a significant development to enhance entrepreneurial ecosystem in Canada and Hong Kong, SCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Super Angel Network (HKU SAN) and ventureLAB Innovation Centre of Canada on 5 December 2025 on the HKU campus. The agreement formalises a commitment to resource sharing, expertise exchange, and cross-border collaboration to support startups and scale-ups in both regions.
The signing was witnessed by Prof Alice Wong, Associate Vice-President (Research) of HKU; Mr Jovan Trajceski, Co-Chair of Innovation Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in HK; and Dr Winnie Tang, Founder and Honorary President of SCC and Chief Convenor of HKU Super Angel Network. The MoU was signed by Mr Hugh Chow, Chief Executive Officer of VentureLAB; Dr Paul Wang, Director of HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (TEC); and Mr Gary Yeung, President of SCC.
大灣區低空經濟聯盟開展多項工作 LAEA’s Initiatives in recent months
Over the past quarter, the GBA Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA) organized a series of events, including a visit to Aero Asia 2025, attendance at the 2025 Conference on High-Quality Development of Low-Altitude Economy (LAE) in the GBA, the Symposium on the Collaborative Development of the LAE of the GBA and the "深港同心，羅湖創景" Scenario Innovation Conference, signing a MoU with the Guangzhou LAE and Aerospace Industry Association, inspecting various fire-fighting UAVs, holding a press conference on technological empowerment for smart fire protection, and convening multiple meetings to advance the initiative of "Regulatory Sandbox X".
SCC 組團參加「英國教育科技博覽會」 HK Exhibitors showcased at BETT UK 2026
SCC 組織的展團參加了1月21日至23日在倫敦舉行的BETT UK 2026（英國教育科技博覽會），這是全球最大型教育科技盛會，匯聚各式軟硬體、AI 技術，旨在展示創新科技教育成果，為教育工作者提供交流平台。SCC帶領香港的教育科技公司，組織了Hong Kong Village，展現香港蓬勃發展的教育科技生態系統。Hong Kong Village於1月22日舉辦「Champagne Hour」交流活動，連結香港參展商與近百位來自全球各地的來賓，與會者遠至非洲國家。活動由投資推廣署贊助。
BETT UK前的「Pre-BETT Hong Kong EdTech UK Connect」活動於1月19日在香港駐倫敦經濟貿易辦事處舉行。當日，由英國教育供應商協會及英國商業貿易部引介的逾50家英國企業和8家香港公司就香港教育科技發展現況深入交流。
Smart City Consortium (SCC) led a group of Hong Kong exhibitors to showcase at BETT UK 2026, forming the first-ever HK Village from 21–23 January 2026 in London. The “Champagne Hour”, a key networking event sponsored by InvestHK, was held on 22 January, connecting HK exhibitors with around 100 guests from around the world, including participants from as far as Africa.
A pre-BETT event, the “HK EdTech UK Connect, took place on 19 January at ther HK Economic and Trade Office in London. Over 50 UK companies, introduced by the British Educational Suppliers Association and the UK Department for Business and Trade, met with 8 HK companies for a productive exchange on the EdTech landscape in HK.
SCC 呼籲全力支持政府《運輸策略藍圖》 SCC Supports Transport Strategy Blueprint
SCC welcomes the Government’s Transport Strategy Blueprint and calls on the transportation industry and all sectors of society to work together to provide full support in line with the Blueprint.
Announced on February 6, the Blueprint establishes three major themes for future transport development, and proposes six strategies with a total of 25 recommendations to drive the sustainable development of Hong Kong's transport system, with the vision of "Implementing a people-centric approach, Strengthening connectivity with both the Mainland and the world, Promoting efficient travel, and Embracing green lifestyle".

SCC has launched a series of training seminars on CyberSecurity. The 5th seminar, themed "Uncovering the Truth Behind the Blind Spots of Security Testing”, took place on 16 January 2026, with Dr Theo Chan, Dean of The HK Information Security Academy, as the lecturer.
This project is funded by the General Support Programme of the Innovation and Technology Fund and sponsored by E-Commerce Association of HK, with HK Software Industry Association and HK Information Technology Joint Council as Supporting Organisations.

《人工智能（AI）在中小學教育的應用與發展》研究 Application and Development of AI in Primary and Secondary Education
Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF) and SCC have conducted a study on "Application and Development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Primary and Secondary Education” to understand the actual applications, needs, and challenges of AI in HK’s education system. 地理空間實驗室講堂 GeoLab Professional Talks
由發展局成立，東華三院和SCC分別擔任營運機構和支援組織的地理空間實驗室(GeoLab) 已於2月21日舉行第一場講堂，並於2月28日推出第二場。第一場講堂為三維地理資訊系統基礎，介紹在地理資訊系統 (GIS) 中處理 2.5D 與 3D 空間數據的概念與工具；第二場為三維空間數據管理與分析，旨在帶領參加者了解三維空間數據的概念及其管理、解讀及應用。講堂詳情請瀏覽：https://csdigeolab.gov.hk/en/events/upcoming-event。
The Geospatial Lab (GeoLab) is set to launch two Professional Geospatial Talks. The first, “Fundamentals of 3D GIS”, will introduce the concepts, formats, and tools used in working with 2.5D and 3D spatial data in GIS. The second talk, “3D Spatial Data Management and Analysis”, aims to introduce the fundamentals of 3D spatial datasets and data management. Established by the Development Bureau, operated by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and supported by SCC, the GeoLab has held 46 events and engaged 1,341 participants over the past quarter. These events included 4 professional talks, 8 hands-on workshops, 16 student group visits, and 8 guided tours involving government departments and professionals bodies.

SCC Vice President Dr Daniel Chun served as the moderator of “Global Tech Summit - Energy Innovation for Powering a Sustainable Future” session on December 5 during the 15th BIP Asia, jointly organised by the HKSAR Government and HKTDC. The session provided an in-depth exploration of the cutting-edge technologies and corporate strategies driving energy innovation in HK, examining the tangible advancements in sustainable energy generation, storage and application that are contributing to a resilient energy system for the future.

AI 在教育中的重要角色 EduSpark Dialogue: AI in Schools
智慧城市學院於1 月 19 日在匯基書院舉辦“EduSpark Dialogue: AI in Schools”活動，探討 AI 在教育的重要角色。香港科技大學教育創新中心總監 Sean McMinn 博士、團結香港基金研究總監郭凱傑先生及 NovaLearn 創辦人兼行政總監陳姿佑女士分享觀點，活動為教育工作者提供寶貴的交流平台。
The “EduSpark Dialogue: AI in Schools" was held by Smart City Academy (SCA) on January 19 at United Christian College, featuring Dr Sean McMinn, Director of Center for Education Innovation at HKUST; Mr Victor Kwok, Deputy Research Director at Our HK Foundation; and Ms Sara Tan, Founder and CEO of NovaLearn, who shared their views on the pivotal role of AI in education. The networking session connected the school leaders, educators and innovators, creating opportunities for idea exchange and fostering a growing community of practice.

大灣區青年創業 (智慧城市) 計劃 GBA Youth Entrepreneurship (Smart City) Program
Under SCC’s Greater Bay Area Youth Entrepreneurship (Smart City) Program, a series of entrepreneurial incubation lectures are being held to help entrepreneurs master key knowledge and skills.
Upcoming lectures include one focused on risk management and corporate construction on March 6, followed by another on March 20 featuring a seasoned entrepreneur sharing her startup experiences in the Mainland on March 20. Recent entrepreneurial incubation lectures have covered brand building on 14 January, e-commerce on 23 January, and opportunities in the GBA on 5 February. This program is supported by the Funding Scheme for Youth Entrepreneurship in the Guangdong-HK-Macao GBA under the Youth Development Fund.
促進香港與北美創業生態發展 Collaboration with ventureLAB (Canada) & HKU Super Angel Network
香港大學(港大)創業天使聯盟（HKU Super Angel Network）、加拿大ventureLAB創新中心，以及香港智慧城市聯盟三方於港大簽署合作備忘錄，共同促進香港與加拿大的創業生態系統發展。此合作旨在透過資源共享與優勢互補，建立跨境創新合作平台，推功科技創業國際化。
簽署儀式於12月5日在港大校園舉行，由港大協理副校長（研究）黃思齊教授、 香港加拿大商會創新委員會聯席主席 Mr Jovan Trajceski，以及智慧城市聯盟創辦人兼榮譽會長及香港大學創業天使聯盟召集人鄧淑明博士共同見證。三方代表簽署人分別為：港大科創中心總監汪鵬博士、ventureLAB創新中心行政總裁周憲本先生，及智慧城市聯盟會長楊文銳先生。
In a significant development to enhance entrepreneurial ecosystem in Canada and Hong Kong, SCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Super Angel Network (HKU SAN) and ventureLAB Innovation Centre of Canada on 5 December 2025 on the HKU campus. The agreement formalises a commitment to resource sharing, expertise exchange, and cross-border collaboration to support startups and scale-ups in both regions.
The signing was witnessed by Prof Alice Wong, Associate Vice-President (Research) of HKU; Mr Jovan Trajceski, Co-Chair of Innovation Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in HK; and Dr Winnie Tang, Founder and Honorary President of SCC and Chief Convenor of HKU Super Angel Network. The MoU was signed by Mr Hugh Chow, Chief Executive Officer of VentureLAB; Dr Paul Wang, Director of HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (TEC); and Mr Gary Yeung, President of SCC.
大灣區低空經濟聯盟開展多項工作 LAEA’s Initiatives in recent months
Over the past quarter, the GBA Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA) organized a series of events, including a visit to Aero Asia 2025, attendance at the 2025 Conference on High-Quality Development of Low-Altitude Economy (LAE) in the GBA, the Symposium on the Collaborative Development of the LAE of the GBA and the "深港同心，羅湖創景" Scenario Innovation Conference, signing a MoU with the Guangzhou LAE and Aerospace Industry Association, inspecting various fire-fighting UAVs, holding a press conference on technological empowerment for smart fire protection, and convening multiple meetings to advance the initiative of "Regulatory Sandbox X".
SCC 組團參加「英國教育科技博覽會」 HK Exhibitors showcased at BETT UK 2026
SCC 組織的展團參加了1月21日至23日在倫敦舉行的BETT UK 2026（英國教育科技博覽會），這是全球最大型教育科技盛會，匯聚各式軟硬體、AI 技術，旨在展示創新科技教育成果，為教育工作者提供交流平台。SCC帶領香港的教育科技公司，組織了Hong Kong Village，展現香港蓬勃發展的教育科技生態系統。Hong Kong Village於1月22日舉辦「Champagne Hour」交流活動，連結香港參展商與近百位來自全球各地的來賓，與會者遠至非洲國家。活動由投資推廣署贊助。
BETT UK前的「Pre-BETT Hong Kong EdTech UK Connect」活動於1月19日在香港駐倫敦經濟貿易辦事處舉行。當日，由英國教育供應商協會及英國商業貿易部引介的逾50家英國企業和8家香港公司就香港教育科技發展現況深入交流。
Smart City Consortium (SCC) led a group of Hong Kong exhibitors to showcase at BETT UK 2026, forming the first-ever HK Village from 21–23 January 2026 in London. The “Champagne Hour”, a key networking event sponsored by InvestHK, was held on 22 January, connecting HK exhibitors with around 100 guests from around the world, including participants from as far as Africa.
A pre-BETT event, the “HK EdTech UK Connect, took place on 19 January at ther HK Economic and Trade Office in London. Over 50 UK companies, introduced by the British Educational Suppliers Association and the UK Department for Business and Trade, met with 8 HK companies for a productive exchange on the EdTech landscape in HK.
SCC 呼籲全力支持政府《運輸策略藍圖》 SCC Supports Transport Strategy Blueprint
SCC welcomes the Government’s Transport Strategy Blueprint and calls on the transportation industry and all sectors of society to work together to provide full support in line with the Blueprint.
Announced on February 6, the Blueprint establishes three major themes for future transport development, and proposes six strategies with a total of 25 recommendations to drive the sustainable development of Hong Kong's transport system, with the vision of "Implementing a people-centric approach, Strengthening connectivity with both the Mainland and the world, Promoting efficient travel, and Embracing green lifestyle".
SCC舉辦「網絡安全」講堂系列 SCC Information Security Training Seminars
SCC has launched a series of training seminars on CyberSecurity. The 5th seminar, themed "Uncovering the Truth Behind the Blind Spots of Security Testing”, took place on 16 January 2026, with Dr Theo Chan, Dean of The HK Information Security Academy, as the lecturer.
This project is funded by the General Support Programme of the Innovation and Technology Fund and sponsored by E-Commerce Association of HK, with HK Software Industry Association and HK Information Technology Joint Council as Supporting Organisations.

地理空間實驗室講堂 GeoLab Professional Talks
由發展局成立，東華三院和SCC分別擔任營運機構和支援組織的地理空間實驗室(GeoLab) 已於2月21日舉行第一場講堂，並於2月28日推出第二場。第一場講堂為三維地理資訊系統基礎，介紹在地理資訊系統 (GIS) 中處理 2.5D 與 3D 空間數據的概念與工具；第二場為三維空間數據管理與分析，旨在帶領參加者了解三維空間數據的概念及其管理、解讀及應用。講堂詳情請瀏覽：https://csdigeolab.gov.hk/en/events/upcoming-event。
The Geospatial Lab (GeoLab) is set to launch two Professional Geospatial Talks. The first, “Fundamentals of 3D GIS”, will introduce the concepts, formats, and tools used in working with 2.5D and 3D spatial data in GIS. The second talk, “3D Spatial Data Management and Analysis”, aims to introduce the fundamentals of 3D spatial datasets and data management. Established by the Development Bureau, operated by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and supported by SCC, the GeoLab has held 46 events and engaged 1,341 participants over the past quarter. These events included 4 professional talks, 8 hands-on workshops, 16 student group visits, and 8 guided tours involving government departments and professionals bodies.

SCC Vice President Dr Daniel Chun served as the moderator of “Global Tech Summit - Energy Innovation for Powering a Sustainable Future” session on December 5 during the 15th BIP Asia, jointly organised by the HKSAR Government and HKTDC. The session provided an in-depth exploration of the cutting-edge technologies and corporate strategies driving energy innovation in HK, examining the tangible advancements in sustainable energy generation, storage and application that are contributing to a resilient energy system for the future.

AI 在教育中的重要角色 EduSpark Dialogue: AI in Schools
智慧城市學院於1 月 19 日在匯基書院舉辦“EduSpark Dialogue: AI in Schools”活動，探討 AI 在教育的重要角色。香港科技大學教育創新中心總監 Sean McMinn 博士、團結香港基金研究總監郭凱傑先生及 NovaLearn 創辦人兼行政總監陳姿佑女士分享觀點，活動為教育工作者提供寶貴的交流平台。
The “EduSpark Dialogue: AI in Schools" was held by Smart City Academy (SCA) on January 19 at United Christian College, featuring Dr Sean McMinn, Director of Center for Education Innovation at HKUST; Mr Victor Kwok, Deputy Research Director at Our HK Foundation; and Ms Sara Tan, Founder and CEO of NovaLearn, who shared their views on the pivotal role of AI in education. The networking session connected the school leaders, educators and innovators, creating opportunities for idea exchange and fostering a growing community of practice.

The 8th Greater Bay Area Digital Education STEAM Excellence Awards 2026 (Hong Kong), organized by the Hong Kong New Emerging Technology Education Association (HKNETEA), is now open for registration. The deadline for applications is March 31. SCC is a supporting organization.
