Secretary for Education Dr Christine Choi and Permanent Secretary May Chan, along with Education Commission Chairman Dr David Wong Yau-Kar, EdCity Board Chairman Armstrong Lee, SCC’s Honorary Presidents Hon Elizabeth Quat and Dr Winnie Tang, and SCC President Gary Yeung officiated at the Opening Ceremony of Learning and Teaching Expo (LTE) 2025 on 2 July 2025.
Themed "Education: A Shared Future for All", the three-day LTE 2025 featured about several hundred exhibition booths and introduced the Mainland and International Pavilions to foster cross-regional collaborative exchanges. The Principals' Conference, held for the first time, brought together over 200 Hong Kong school principals, while a newly introduced Kids' AI Summit engaged approximately 100 Hong Kong primary and secondary school students in a three-minute speech session. Additionally, over 270 keynote speeches, seminars, and demonstration classes showcased innovative teaching solutions and trends in technology applications.
Most notably, the Development Bureau and the Construction Industry Council mounted the “Infrastructure x Education” exhibition at LTE 2025. This marked the first collaboration between the construction and the education sectors to organise a large-scale exhibition featuring infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, thereby promoting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education related to the construction industry. This initiative aimed to help students apply STEAM knowledge through practical examples and encourage the younger generation to join the construction industry.
