The First SCC FinTech Forum cum Networking
Over 300 members and guests have crowded Metta at Lan Kwai Fong of Central for the first ever SCC’s member gathering. This event aimed to gather local elites and professionals from various industries to network and shed light on developing Hong Kong as a first-class Smart City. It concluded with numerous constructive dialogues and joyful atmosphere pervaded all corners.
The participants came from various industries, including finance and banking, education, public utilities, professional consultancy, property development and government related organisations. But what really impressive were the young faces from local and overseas. Most of them are startups which tried to expand their networks and gain insights from interaction at the gathering.
The gathering was inaugurated by a forum on FinTech’s relevant licensing and policy issues faced by micropayment and FinTech companies, how to address security issues and advantages of local companies in comparison with incoming overseas competitors, and followed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SCC and IngDan, one of the PRC’s largest one-stop intelligent hardware innovation business platform and members networking.
It was great to have so many “smart people” from various industries, age groups and nationalities gathered together to exchange and explore ideas which helps our smart city keep moving forward.
