     Dr. Paulina WONG

      Assistant Professor, Science Unit,
      Lingnan University

     

    Paulina Wong is currently the Assistant Professor of the Science Unit, Lingnan University Paulina is an environmental geographer specializing in urban climate, air pollution, GIS, and public health. By training, her research focuses mainly on ecological and practical applications of GIS with particular concern on examining the effects of air pollution and urban heat islands on health-related problems in densely populated megacities. In recent years, her research has also been extended to urban sensing, mobile geospatial technologies, environmental consciousness, education for sustainability, social policy and governance. She is a Fulbright and Lee Hysan Scholar and she is also a certified GIS Professional.

    Currently, Paulina serves on a number of professional bodies, such as the council member of the Hong Kong Geographic Information System Association (HKGISA); Vice-chairman of the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) Committee, Smart City Consortium (SCC); Committee Member of the Hong Kong Alliance of Built Asset & Environment Information Management Associations (HKABAEIMA) to foster GIS, Open BIM and Smart City development. She is also the editorial board member, review editor and guest editor of several quality international journals.

    Paulina completed her Bachelor (Physics) and Master (Geography with First Class Honours) studies in New Zealand and obtained her Doctoral degree from the University of Hong Kong.
