Smart City Consortium signs MOU with Tus-Holdings and China Digital Industry City Association to Jointly Develop a Smart City Innovation Ecosystem

Today, Smart City Consortium (SCC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd. (TUS) and China Digital Industry City Association (CDICA) at the Hong Kong Computer & Communications Festival 2016 organized by the Chamber of Hong Kong Computer Industry, and held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Under the witness of Mr. Nicholas Yang, Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Dr. David Chung, Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology and Mr. Allen Yeung, Government Chief Information Officer, Dr. Winnie Tang, Founder and Chairman of the Steering Committee of SCC signed the MOU with Mr. Ma Chi Kong, Executive Director of TUS.

Dr. Winnie Tang, Founder and Chairman of SCC, said, “I am glad to sign the MOU with TUS and CDICA, I believe the exchange and cooperation among the three parties will accelerate the smart city development in Hong Kong and the Mainland, and bring together the experts and enterprises in Hong Kong and the Mainland to participate in the smart city standard formulation, and providing investment opportunities in various smart city development work.”

Dr. Winnie Tang continued to point out, “Hong Kong has huge potential in the development of innovation industry, we have substantial information technology talent; if the government, industry, academia and research sectors join forces to commercialize innovative research, we could definitely make a greater contribution to the building of smart city. Besides, SCC plans to collect different opinions via the recent launch of a five-week public consultation for the smart city development blueprint, and submit an advisory paper to the Government for their reference in developing relevant policies and standards. ”

Mr. Ma Chi Kong, Executive Director of TUS, said, “Tus-Holdings has accumulated rich experience in science park technology development and operation. We have been actively promoting interaction between innovative resources and regional economy, we have successfully constructed over 130 innovation bases, our radiation network covers more than 50 cities and regions. We have established an international incubation network distributed in the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea and Russia. Through the signing of MOU, I hope to strengthen the two parties’ exchange with regard to building smart city and constructing innovation ecosystem, we could develop our respective advantages to achieve shared benefits.”

On the day of the MOU signing, SCC also organized a Green Forum cum Members Gathering. The Green Forum invited Ms. Christine Loh, Under Secretary for the Environment in Hong Kong, to give an opening speech, while Mr. Andy Chung, Chairman of the Green Committee of SCC served as moderator of the event. Ms. Suzanne Cheung, Chief Executive Officer of Friends of the Earth (HK), Ms. Rosana Wong, Chairman of the Smart Living Committee of SCC, and Mr. Andrew Lee, Executive Director of 21Vianet Group, Inc., also attended the Forum to discuss "How smart city address the climate change and energy issues?".

智慧城市聯盟與啟迪控股及中國數字產城聯盟簽訂諒解備忘錄

強強聯手建設智慧城市創新生態圈

智慧城市聯盟(SCC)於8月19日在由香港電腦商會主辦，於香港會議展覽中心舉行的香港電腦通訊節2016上，與啟迪控股股份有限公司(以下簡稱「啟迪控股」)及中國數字產城聯盟(CDICA)簽訂諒解備忘錄，在創新及科技局局長楊偉雄先生、副局長鍾偉強博士和政府資訊科技總監楊德斌先生的見證下，SCC創辦人兼督導委員會主席鄧淑明博士聯同啟迪控股董事馬志剛先生簽署有關文檔。

智慧城市聯盟創辦人兼督導委員會主席鄧淑明博士表示，很高興與啟迪控股及中國數字產城聯盟簽訂諒解備忘錄，並深信三方的交流合作將能夠加速中、港兩地智慧城市的發展步伐，同時可匯聚更多中、港兩地的專家學者和企業參與智慧城市的標準制定，以及為各項發展工作提供更廣闊的投資機遇。

鄧淑明博士指出，香港發展創新文化產業潛力優厚，資訊科技人才輩出，如能透過中、港兩地「官、產、學、研」強強聯手，將創新的科研項目轉化為市場產品，必定能夠為建設智慧城市作出更大貢獻。另外，智慧城市聯盟最近已就香港建設智慧城市藍圖展開了五星期的公眾諮詢，希望收集各方專業意見，稍後向特區政府遞交建議書，以作為制定相關政策和標準之參考。

智慧城市聯盟在簽署諒解備忘錄當日也同時舉辦了綠色智慧論壇暨會員交流活動，綠色智慧論壇邀請了環境局副局長陸恭蕙女士致開幕辭，又邀請到智慧城市聯盟綠色委員會主席鍾偉樑先生擔任主持人，「香港地球之友」行政總裁張潔儀小姐、智慧城市聯盟智慧生活委員會主席黃慧敏小姐及世紀互聯有限公司執行總監李一龍先生出席論壇，共同探討「智慧城市如何應對氣候變化和能源問題」，分享心得。
