- Smart City Consortium (SCC) - A coalition of professionals from various sectors contributing to Hong Kong's vision of becoming a world-class smart city by providing expert advice on policy and standards development.
- STEM Plus Limited - An event organizer with extensive experience in STEM education, offering innovative STEM products and solutions. STEM Plus is a subsidiary of Hung Hing Printing Group Limited (0450.HK) and a proud corporate member of the Smart City Consortium.

Why AI?
AI might seem complex, but it's fundamentally about managing and processing data in innovative ways to solve problems, making it an essential skill in today's tech-driven world.
Why Formula-Edge?
Edge computing allows for data processing near its source, which lowers the barriers to entry for learning and applying AI technology, making it more accessible for educational purposes. Why Self-Driving Cars? The concept of autonomous vehicles is not only a hot topic in research and development but also an excellent educational tool due to the availability of open-source software, affordable single board computers, and machine learning tools.
Objectives:
To inspire students to explore AI technology through the hands-on creation of small-scale, self-driving cars using readily available and cost-effective components. To cultivate skills in Python programming, robotics, and AI model building in an engaging competition format.
Expected Outcomes:
- Enhancement of participants’ coding, robotics, and AI modeling capabilities. Development of team-building and critical thinking skills.
- Providing a practical platform for testing ideas related to autonomous vehicle technology.
Target Participants:
- Students from Primary 6 and above in Hong Kong and Macau.
Participation Details:
- Number of Schools: 17
- Participants: Over 300 students and teachers
- Participation Fee: HK$1000 per team (4 students + 1 teacher), which includes: Admission to the 3-day competition.
- Practice sessions with expert AI advisors.
- Certificates for all participants. Lunch and refreshments for three days for all participants.
Venue and Competition Details:
- Competition Area: 5,000 sqm with the competition track occupying approximately 1,100 sqm.
- Competition Hours: Daily from 09:00 to 18:00, December 13-15, 2024.
- Expected Visitors: Approximately 400.
