Press Release_Smart City Consortium proudly presents the rejuvenated Learning & Teaching Expo 2025 highlighting the theme “Education: A Shared Future for All”
For immediate release
While the rapid development of modern technologies reshapes the future, it has also brought immense transformations to education and induced endless possibilities. To better understand students’ ideas and expectations about education and artificial intelligence (AI) for a better future, Smart City Consortium, the organiser of Learning & Teaching Expo 2025 (LTE 2025), has heard from over 2,000 primary and secondary students aged 6 to 18 in Hong Kong, with the findings as follows:
- Over 90% of the students agree that AI technology facilitate learning by helping them with tasks such as searching for information, verifying facts, providing answers to their questions round the clock, and tailor-making solutions according to their learning progress and specific needs.
- 100% of the students agree that human teachers are irreplaceable by AI. When students suffer from emotional distress, many of them would find comfort and support from their teachers. Students also cherish teachers responding to their questions with personal input and offering motivation by sharing relevant personal experiences. In general, students emphasise that genuine emotional support from teachers is crucial to them.
- Over 90% of students believe that AI can assist human teachers in various ways, including helping teachers to mark assignments and exams, providing supplementary information for their teaching, and utilising technology to design games to enhance students’ learning, enabling them to have more time to interact with students outside the classroom, such as talking, playing, and participating in activities that both teachers and students find interesting.
With an aim to bring educators and stakeholders together to explore the latest advancements and technology integration in teaching and learning, and insights on enhancing the holistic wellbeing of students, parents, teachers and principals, Smart City Consortium proudly presents the annual mega event LTE 2025 from 2 to 4 July at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, presenting revitalised ideas and experiences to the education community.
